TOP FAQ’S

What’s the Excess or Deductible?
An excess or deductible is the amount when you make a claim, you need to pay for each event. If the loss is less in relation to the amount of the excess then you should match with the cost of it.

What’s Excessive Waiver cover?
You may get the chance to purchase Extra Waiver Cover for an additional premium. The surplus or deductible WOn’t be payable in case of a claim, if purchased.

Am I entitled to any No Claims Discount or Bonus?
Each year without making an insurance claim, that you’re covered, you earn a No Claims Discount placed on the following year. This might be transferred from a previous insurance company, or built up annually. If transferring from another insurer you may be asked for signs of your no claims discount. The most no claims bonus entitlement is 25%, but a few of our insurers will simply offer a maximum 20% entitlement.

What occurs to my no claims discount if I have a claim?
When you own a claim through the policy period then your no claims discount will revert to nil and will build up each year you’re claim free.

What happens to my no claims discount if I got a claim and it is not my fault?
Initially, if your claim has been paid it will still change your no claims discount until such time as an effective recovery from the third party is obtained. We will subsequently reinstate your no claims discount to exactly the same stage that it absolutely was before the loss.

Can I shield my No Claims Discount?
Yes, when you really have the maximum no claims discount, we may give you the option to protect your no claims discount, which suggests that subject to payment of the further premium, even should a claim is made you will not lose your no claims bonus.

Does lightning strikes are covered by my policy?
Yes, our yacht coverages do cover damage or the loss resulting from lightening strikes.

I want to charter out my boat, are you able to cover me?
Yes, we might have the ability to expand our yacht coverages to cover the vessel whilst under Skipper Charter and Bareboat Charter. Please contact the office to go over your requirements.

If your claim arises, on how to produce a claim, all the info are found in your Certificate of Insurance or Policy documentation. If in doubt please contact the office and we will provide a claims form to you, and can support you in making your claim.

Our policies are created to satisfy the needs of the sailing community, offering flexible and complete cover for international and local sailing.
We offer £3 million Third Party Liability as conventional, up to 25% No Claims Bonus (with the choice to shield) and also the option of an excess/deductible waiver on some policies, meaning you’ll not pay an excess/deductible in the function of a claim – you’ll be paid out up to the amount insured on the policy program.
